NDIS support services in Brisbane cover a wide range of day-to-day help, from someone coming to your house to assist with a shower, through to a nurse managing a PEG feed, through to a worker taking you to a Broncos game or the Gold Coast for the weekend. If your NDIS plan has funding for supports, you are entitled to use that funding with any registered provider you choose. Humility Support Services is one of them, based in Pallara and active across Greater Brisbane.
The phrase support services is broad on purpose because NDIS plans are individual. What one participant needs is not what the next one needs. A 19-year-old with autism transitioning out of a group home needs a completely different kind of support to a 54-year-old with MS who wants to stay in her own house in Moorooka for as long as possible. Both are valid. Both are what we do.
Showering, dressing, toileting, oral care, grooming, and medication prompts. This is the core of daily personal activities and it is what most participants start with. Our workers are trained in manual handling and dignity-first care, which matters a lot more than it sounds when someone is assisting you at 7am.
Cleaning, laundry, meal prep, grocery shopping, light gardening. If you cannot do these things safely because of your disability, the NDIS will usually fund household tasks support. We do not treat this as a shortcut to cleaning, we treat it as enabling you to live in a safe, healthy home.
Getting to appointments, the shops, social events, exercise groups, or work. Assist travel and transport is a big part of what we do, and for participants in outer suburbs like Browns Plains or Heathwood it is often the difference between being isolated and being part of the community.
Daily living and life skills covers cooking, budgeting, public transport use, self-care routines, and anything else that builds independence. Life stage transition support helps people move through major changes, like leaving school, moving out, or shifting from one type of accommodation to another.
Group activities and innovative community participation programs are for participants who want regular social contact or are working on specific community-based goals. Social isolation is one of the real problems NDIS funding is meant to address, and these programs work when they are run properly.
Our community nursing team handles clinical needs in your home: wound dressings, catheter changes, stoma care, medication management, and health assessments. If you are eligible through DVA, we also provide DVA community nursing across Brisbane.
NDIS funding is split into Core, Capacity Building, and Capital. Most daily support falls under Core. Skills and development supports fall under Capacity Building. If you are not sure which bucket your current supports come from, your plan manager or coordinator will know, or we can look at it with you.
One of the biggest mistakes we see is participants underusing their plan. If you have funding that is not being used, it does not roll over forever. Review periods come around faster than you expect, and unused funding can make it harder to justify the same level in the next plan. A decent provider should be actively helping you use your plan, not just turning up for booked shifts.
We work with participants across the full range of disabilities, including physical disability, intellectual disability, autism, psychosocial disability, acquired brain injury, sensory impairment, and chronic illness. We have experience with complex needs and behaviour support plans, and we work alongside positive behaviour support practitioners where that is part of your plan.
We also work with children (over 7), teenagers, adults, and older participants. If your plan ends because you move off NDIS onto the aged care system, we can often continue supporting you through our Support at Home program, which is worth asking about if you are getting close to 65.
We will not give you a generic quote because your plan is not generic. Call +61 415 868 405 or book a meeting through our contact page. If you want to read more first, our guide on how to find a good support worker in Brisbane and how to get more hours in your NDIS plan are both useful background.
