Every family carer needs a break sometimes, and every NDIS participant can benefit from a change of scenery. Humility Support Services provides respite care across Brisbane, delivered by consistent, briefed support workers who already understand a participant’s routine.
Respite is a temporary, supported break, whether that’s extra in-home support so a carer can rest, or a short stay away from a participant’s usual home.
A support worker who already knows Brisbane’s suburbs, transport, and community options makes a respite arrangement feel far more settled than being supported by someone unfamiliar with the area. Our team is based in Brisbane’s southern and southwestern suburbs, not dispatched from elsewhere.
Respite is generally funded through Core Supports, with the NDIA allocating a set amount per year based on assessed need. We’ll confirm exactly what your plan allows before booking.
Carers in Brisbane often delay booking respite until they’re already at breaking point, and unfamiliar respite staff can make an already disruptive break feel more unsettling than restful.
Our Brisbane team, based across the southern and southwestern suburbs, prioritises involving a participant’s existing support workers in respite stays wherever possible. We actively encourage planning respite ahead of time rather than reactively, since occasional, planned breaks tend to be far more sustainable long term.
