Community nursing in Logan is under-supplied. That is the plain truth. If you have called three providers and been told they do not service Logan, or that there is an 8-week wait, you are not alone. Humility Support Services runs registered nurses out of our Pallara office, and Logan is one of our regular travel areas. We visit Logan suburbs for clinical care most days of the week, and in most cases we can do an initial assessment within a week.
Our nursing clients in Logan include NDIS participants, DVA Gold Card holders, Home Care Package recipients, Support at Home participants, and private clients. The common thread is that they all need clinical care in their own home rather than having to travel to a clinic or hospital.
Typical situations we see:
Simple wounds, complex wounds, pressure injuries, surgical wounds, diabetic ulcers, and leg ulcers. We follow the care plan from your GP or wound clinic and report back on progress. For complex wounds we photograph and document changes so the wound care specialist can see the trajectory between reviews.
Catheter changes (suprapubic and urethral), bladder washouts, bowel management, enema administration, and continence assessments. Continence is one of those things people do not love talking about, but it has a huge impact on quality of life. Our nurses are practical and respectful about it.
Webster pack supervision, subcutaneous injections, insulin, anticoagulant injections, and medication reviews. We work with your GP and pharmacy to keep everything on schedule.
Ongoing stoma care including bag changes, skin care, and accessory management. PEG feed support including tube checks, site care, feed setup, and troubleshooting.
Regular nursing visits for participants with MS, Parkinsons, motor neurone disease, COPD, heart failure, or other chronic conditions. This is about preventing decline and catching problems early rather than just responding to emergencies.
Most of these fall under our broader community nursing service, which you can read about in more detail on the main service page. If you are a veteran, see our DVA community nursing page instead
Our nurses travel to the full Logan City LGA, including Woodridge, Kingston, Logan Central, Loganlea, Loganholme, Marsden, Crestmead, Berrinba, Regents Park, Heritage Park, Browns Plains, Hillcrest, Boronia Heights, Greenbank, Park Ridge, Beenleigh, Eagleby, Bethania, Underwood, Daisy Hill, Springwood, Slacks Creek, and surrounds.
For non-urgent care, we generally do an initial assessment within 3-5 business days. For urgent needs (hospital discharge, new wound, catheter blockage) we can often visit next day. Call first thing in the morning if you need same-week assessment, because nursing shifts fill quickly.
We bill against NDIS plans, DVA (for eligible veterans), Home Care Packages, Support at Home packages, and private-pay. If you are not sure which applies, call us and we will work it out together.
